Anthony Hegarty MSc began his law enforcement career at New Scotland Yard (NSY) investigating all major crimes. After 10 years he cut short his service to work in the private sector, but his passions for criminal investigations and protecting people did not stop there. Within a year of leaving NSY he became involved in the intelligence gathering and disruption operations of human trafficking gangs in Southern Asia.

He would go on to train the Japanese Police for 3 years and crisis manage multiple international events such as the Seoul G20 Summit and the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. He was first to discover child sex offenders targetting Asian schools via the English Teaching Industry in order to gain access to the children. He also identified the pattern of sex offenders using the deed poll system to change their identities and advised the UK and other governments on this criminal behaviour pattern. He lectures at multiple universities on sexual violence causes and prevention and has spoken at multiple international police conferences on cross-border criminal investigations. He has also advised lawmakers on immigration law to prevent certain criminal types from entering the country.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Risk & Security Management and a Master's Degree in Criminology & Criminal Psychology.

In writing Drugs: The Dark Side he says, "It has been clear for a number of years that we are now competing with criminal gangs for the minds of our children. We have to offer our kids more interest and excitement than what drug dealers are tempting them with. We believe the materials we have produced goes some way to achieving this"

Every society eventually realises its children are growing up differently from the generation before; for Korea, that moment is now. The change has not arrived quietly; it has come through handphones, algorithms, and an...

The Spirit of Cooperation: Bridging Korea and Japan Through Sports
I don’t usually watch TV, but recently I caught an impressive show. It wasn't just the material content that captivated me; it was the far-reaching social implications, particularly for young people. The show, Korea Japan Super-match - Korean Wrestlers vs Sumo , pits Japanese sumo wrestlers against Korea’s traditional wrestlers. What struck me most, as someone who has had the good fortune of living in both countries, was the deep respect each athlete showed their opponent and the grace they...
